I know it is still in beta, but it’s the only video editing program on Linux that comes close to Premiere. Those drivers are for computers with separate AMD GPUs which your computer does not have. One also needs OpenCL drivers which one would normally get with the drivers from the AMD website. DaVinci Resolve Minimum System Requirements CPU, Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7, Intel Core i9 or AMD Ryzen 9 RAM, 16GB, 32GB+ GPU, 4GB VRAM, 8GB+ VRAM Media. One needs to have more than just the amdgpu driver installed for DaVinci Resolve to work. I have used Cineform before on Windows and read somewhere that you can use it on Linux but found no further info. DaVinci Resolve has high hardware requirements. I am trying not to loose too much quality and would appreciate good editing performance. The question now is however what codecs to use and how to transcode. I know that h.264 is not yet properly supported, but I can accept to transcoding footage and exports. When I look at them in Resolve, I only get the audio track. I shot on a Canon 70D at the moment, so I get. I managed to install the program and it runs fine (as far as I was able to test it). As I am trying to do as much as possible in Linux and not a VM, I am trying to move to Davinci Resolve 15 from Premiere Pro on Windows. I just recently switched to Linux on my main system. ![]()
